Eat More Blueberries in 2016!

2016 is upon us! New Year’s day is a day when people all across the world see hope for a better year, and make resolutions to themselves to become better human beings by starting good new behaviors and eliminating unfavorable old ones.

Often, people’s New Year’s resolutions revolve around their diet. Usually, people would like to eat less and make better choices about what they consume. People want to start eating more foods that have less fat, less sugar, more antioxidants and vitamins, and all-around health benefits.

What better food is there to satisfy all of these goals than the All-American original blueberry? Anyone would be hard-pressed to find another food that has more vitamins and antioxidants than blueberries while still having no fat.

As blueberries have grown more popular in the last 15 years, numerous studies involving blueberries have been conducted and has shown them to be beneficial for many parts of the body.

Blueberries have been shown to be good for the cardiovascular system, muscles, nervous system, and can even lower the risk of developing neurodegenerative diseases.

They are good for blood sugar regulation, the digestive system, the nervous system, brain health, and blueberries have even been shown to improve memory!

Other benefits from blueberries include healthy blood pressure and eye health and protection.

The list goes on.

Blueberries have been in North America long before Europeans came over, and they have always been a favorite treat among people around the world. They are extremely easy to eat because of their small seeds and lack of stem, they are lightly sweet and delicious, and blueberries are incredibly versatile when cooking. They also retain their health benefits whether they are dried, frozen, or fresh.

If your resolution this year has anything remotely to do with your diet, eating more blueberries would be advantageous, tasty, and a resolution you probably will hang on to for a long time. A good suggestion for your help would be to eat more blueberries in 2016!
