Get Ready for the 2017 Florida Blueberry Festival

Love blueberries? Then plan now to attend the 2017 Florida Blueberry Festival in Brooksville, FL, this April!

The 2017 Florida Blueberry Festival is fast approaching. Slated for the weekend of April 22nd and the 23rd, the event is held in Brooksville in the downtown area. Explore all the events and happenings that are planned for this year’s event below.

A Highlight on Blueberries

As the event is in celebration of Florida blueberries, there will be fresh blueberries for sale and a plethora of other blueberry options. In addition to buying fresh blueberries, there will be baked goods like blueberry pies and blueberry shortcake featuring cake, fresh blueberries and whipped cream for sale from food concessions. Other foods centered around blueberries include blueberry soda and blueberry smoothies.

Retail booths will also be selling a variety of blueberry-focused items at the Florida Blueberry Festival. Attendees will be able to buy blueberry creations like blueberry preserves, blueberry wine, blueberry honey, and blueberry mustard.

Entertainment at the Florida Blueberry Festival

The Florida Blueberry Festival includes a variety of options for entertainment. Each day features its own lineup of bands and musical acts that are scheduled to perform on stage. Attendees to the musical shows are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs to sit on.

The Festival also includes many different street performers like stilt-walkers, jugglers, the blueberry dancers and more. There is also a Blueberry Kid’s Zone that includes bounce houses, a rock wall for climbing, harness bounce swings and other fun attractions.

Other Attractions

Like any other fair or festival, the Florida Blueberry Festival will also feature concessions selling carnival food favorites, face painting and games of skill and chance where you can win a prize. The specialty retail section will also offer live demonstrations, free samples and artisans selling a variety of wares and goods.
