The Best Blueberry Dessert

If there’s one thing in the world I love to eat (and make!), it’s a super easy and delicious dessert! I love crumbles, crisps, and cobblers all year long. However, they are especially wonderful during the summer when there is so much fresh fruit available. This week I bought two pounds of blueberries for less than $5, and this blueberry crumble was first on my list of recipes to try! It was a huge hit with my whole family. I served it with some creamy vanilla bean ice cream, and was literally dessert perfection! I love making this blueberry crumble in individual ramekins (there’s just something special about individual desserts, right?) but it would be also easy to double the recipe and make it in a pie dish.

How To Make A Blueberry Crumble

a ramekin filled with this blueberry crumble recipe topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream

Prep – Preheat the oven to 375 degrees while you’re preparing the recipe. Spray 4 baking ramekins with nonstick cooking spray and then set them aside. Make The Filling – Toss the blueberries, flour and sugar in a small bowl until everything is mixed together. Divide the mixture equally between the four ramekins. Make The Crumble – Using the same bowl, mix together the butter, flour, sugar, and salt. You’ll want to use your fingers to crumble the butter into the flour mixture until streusel makes small clumps. Divide this streusel topping equally into the each of the ramekins. Heat It Up – Place the ramekins in the oven and bake them for about 20-25 minutes. Once the top of blueberry crumble has turned a golden-brown color and the blueberries start bubbling, you’ll know it’s ready.

Recipe Tips

Making A Larger Batch – I love to serve these blueberry crumbles in individual ramekins because there’s something special about an individual dessert. If you prefer, you can make this in a larger dish by simply doubling the recipe. Fresh Or Frozen – It doesn’t matter. You can use either fresh or frozen blueberries for this recipe. How To Serve It – My favorite way to eat this blueberry crumble is with a large scoop of vanilla bean ice cream on top. I just love the mixture of the hot and cold desserts together!
